River fun Obama Dream

January30

Walking home on a snowy road, I walked into a ranch style home that was brown and pretty run down. I was joining a church service. I didn’t feel comfortable and the preacher went to another room, telling me and a few others to turn off the lights and wait for him to come back. We all were laying on the ground and I got up, went to the hall door where the preacher had walked out of, and he was standing at the door. He told me to wait and I refused. He interrupted me and in his rush to get me to go back, he said that they still hadn’t caught the murderer. I pushed him aside and ran out the door yelling to him that he couldn’t keep people there.

In a jeep with a very militant woman, I was on a mission to find out what the preacher was up to. It was becoming too overwhelming and I looked to my left and saw a river parallel to the dirt road we were on. I saw kids on inner-tubes floating by.

I was in a speedboat too, sailing by them all. I felt that I was a little too close and the children looked like they were about to flick me off but instead, held up their hands and crossed their fingers. I passed by and my boat became a yellow, rubber raft. I was in a bathing suit, feeling free. Another girl was in there with me and she used her arms to paddle us and I used my arms at the back of the raft. We saw some old friends in rafts beside us and we laughed and waved at them. It was a carefree, sunny feeling.

We headed into a man-made, mall-like tunnel. There was a glass atrium above us and the water was clear and blue. We dead ended at a concert stage. A children’s choir was singing on rafters and some people who were watching turned to us and shushed us. In the center of the stage, Barak Obama was playing on a black, grand piano. He began to sing but it wasn’t very good. We all joined in like the Peanut’s characters with “oooohs” in the background. I sat down with the audience, no more than 20 people or so. My feet were still in the water.

Barak Obama sat in a chair and was trying to adjust it so that his seat would be lower to the ground but he wasn’t working the handles and buttons correctly. His assistant was telling him what to do to fix it but he as he worked, the chair jolted him around, causing him to bang his knee. He snapped at the assistant and she came over and adjusted it for him. I noticed that I was sitting only a few people away from him and how I could tell others about it. When it was over, he was signing autographs for the crowd. I asked him if he could sign my Cabela’s cap. He did and I was excited. I looked at my hat and it read ” Babe, keep the innocence- Best, O”

Drinking Coffee

January27

I have always been able to say “I don’t drink coffee” like the little squirrel, Twitchy, says in Hoodwinked. But as of this past weekend, I cannot.  I watched a PBS program that talked about some benefits of drinking coffee and remembered that my doctor actually told me to have a cup a day for energy.  I always thought that coffee had one of the best aromas but that the taste was too bitter.  It is day 4 of my 1 cup of coffee a day, and it isn’t as bitter as it used to be.  I guess it really is an acquired taste!  On Saturday, I think the coffee really charged me up because I was almost bouncing off the walls and Sunday I felt really good.  I was energized and in a really good mood.  Yesterday was pleasant as well.  It may be a placebo or it could be the caffeine; either way, I am more awake than I had been and doing fine.

Cleaning house in Red Dress Dream

January26

I was wearing a red sun dress that did not fit at all. My butt cheeks kept sticking out of the bottom and my top was really tight. My parents told me that our house was being lived in by our old neighbors, Doc and Vi, on the weekend when we were not home. They said that they had heard running water and steps in the garage once or twice. I went to the small historic village and went to the house. I was constantly worried about my bum hanging out of my dress and making sure no one saw me. I went to the front door with my sister and we saw Doc and Vi inside, getting ready for the weekend antique tour. My sister walked in and told them it needed straightened up and they were uncomfortable because they were discovered.  The room had that green, sun room carpet and it was very cluttered with junk.  Some of the stuff was nice but in poor condition.  I helped sweep the floor and Alan from Two and a Half Men came over to help. His ex-wife was annoyed that he was there. Everyone seemed like they were done cleaning and I noticed that the back part of a room was very dusty. My fingers felt grit and turned black when I touched old items to dust under. I finished cleaning and it was better than it was, so I was happy.

Casino Horror Dream

January24

It started out as a fun trip to a casino and turned into a creepy hell. I was playing a game with some chips and won some money. Then I noticed that people were turning into the pawns and had to go through a gauntlet to win points. I was pushed up on a platform and had to swing on mechanical tightropes as they shifted on the ceiling. I didn’t fall down to the pit full of chips and went back to the main floor and watched others fall. It seemed to be fun because I assumed they just came out at the bottom through a slide somewhere. One man as he fell, got caught in the mechanical flooring and was crunched in two halves. I started to worry. It was my turn again and as I hovered over a money pit, I saw some dead man crawling up out of the money and started to grab at me. His face looked like Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street.

Mansion Basement Dream

January18

I went with a realtor to look at a mansion with a wooded lot that was also close to a beach. There were two front doors and behind them was a gorgeous home. I was only slightly impressed. I enjoyed the handmade wood furniture. While I was looking around I took a break to watch a movie on some fluffy couches in a walkway. Matt came to join me and we ate popcorn but then we were interrupted by the realtor wanting us to keep looking around. We went to the master bedroom where in the closet, there was a small door almost like a laundry shute going to the basement. The basement didn’t look like a basement but more like what an arena basement would look like. It was huge, with tall grey walls and it wrapped around in a half circle. Once in the basement, we saw an exercise room with neon blue lighting and clear exercise bikes. Impressive as that area was, there was so much more. In the hall area, a rock wall and ropes headed up to the master bedroom’s laundry shute. There were video games positioned all along the hall with separate bedrooms for when the players got tired, they could rest. Outside of the basement, there was a festival going on. One booth perpendicular to the basement doorway was having a recording session for singers. I was dressed in a bright cherry-red, sequenced dress with red toe-nail polish. I had a tiara on and felt beautiful. I went to the restroom to straighten the tiara and got distracted and never got to have a song recorded.

Snow Kittens

January17

Dream #1

As I was letting my dogs back in the back door of my house, I saw buried in the snow, a litter of kittens.  They were the rest of the litter that my kittens, Willey and Troy came from.  Most of them looked identical to my kittens, but one was made out of purple and pink fabric.  There was also stitching on him.  My mom told me that I couldn’t keep them.

Dream #2

I was reading a book in a classroom out loud.  I had volunteered and was excited about it until I noticed how hard it was to see the words.  They kept changing on me and it didn’t make sense.  I then noticed that the words wrapped around to the back side of the cover.  It was difficult flipping the book around.  As I struggled, someone interrupted me and started reading where I had messed it up.  I shut my mouth and was embarrassed.

Tanning by a Dumpster Dream

January16

I was in an alley looking for a place to place my lounge chair so I could tan in private.  I saw a dark brown wooden fence and behind it was a dumpster.  The fence enclosed a small space and I found it to be a very good spot.  I grabbed a tropical drink and sat there for a while printing out documents to a printer there.   I was curious to see what was across the way in the skyscraper.  I went in an it was a mall with a large glass ceiling spanning over a breezeway.  It led me to an office with a home kitchen as the lobby.  I was the receptionist and stood behind the kitchen island counter.  I walked over to the fireplace mantle and dusted the area.   A woman came over and helped me hang drapes over the mantle.  I was proud of our efforts and we only drilled a couple of extra holes than needed.

My Own Desktop Organizer!

January15

I enjoy organizing! One might even think I was a little OCD when it comes to items having their own place and label. At home it is a little less obsessive than at work because there isn’t as much to keep track of (or that want to). While visiting the Morning Toast web page, they posted an article and a linked to this computer desktop organizer. I thought about making my own and finally did on Picasa (which is the BEST free software out there for photographers/artists who can’t afford Photoshop). It isn’t flawless since I only spent 10 minutes gathering color/texture and using the collage feature in Picasa. It is organized though!

Before having this organizational tool, I had files and folders spread out on my desktop in groupings, hoping that one wouldn’t get confused with another. This was an important task since multiple copies of a letter were saved to the desktop that coworkers had sent me. I didn’t want to change the titles of the files so that I could send it back when they asked for it.

So below is my end result! (Just imaging the correct files and icons floating there as if it were your desktop!) Like a reader, Jen, from the Morning Toast article posted, “*Smacks forehead* That’s a good idea!”

Large Man Snow Slide Dream

January15

I was running away from something and ran to a red, metal barn door.  Through it was a set of narrow stairs.  At the top was a short entrance way to a loft stage.  A theatrical rehearsal was taking place and the actors noticed me and told me to join in.  I sat on the floor and it was dusty.  I looked up at the rafter behind me and a large man in red (not santa!) danced around and I was worried he was going to trip and fall on me.  He was a really good singer.  During the song, mechanical insects crawled out of the cracks in the floor and were crawling on me.  Someone told me to have no worries about them.  I leave there and Matt and I walk through the snowy night to a hill.  We lay down on our stomaches, hold hands and slide down in the snow towards the darkness.  I was not afraid and it was actually gave me a freeing feeling.

Spy and Obnoxious Boy Dream

January8

Dream #1

As a spy I was taking notes on a bad guy’s plans. He was standing in front of a TV and I was on a couch. Behind the couch there wasn’t a wall but a beach and the sun was setting over the ocean. Another spy was by me. She was a little girl and he caught her taking notes. He ripped it from her hands and took her away to “disappear”. He looked my way as I had just hid my notes under a blanket on the couch. As I got up, walking towards him, I looked back a brief second, seeing that the paper was sticking out from under the blanket by just a small corner. I hoped he wouldn’t see.

Dream #2

Following Matt’s family through an elementary school gym, we sat down on folding chairs. I knew I was going to be bored, so I brought along some plastic cutting boards (about 30 of them in bright colors and different sizes.) I stacked them on my lap and pulled out of my pocket of plastic shapes. One piece I focused on, cradled my thumb pad nicely. I liked the feel of it. As I was zoned out feeling it, some of my plastic pieces fell on the floor behind me and a little boy picked them up. I reached back and grabbed them back from out of his hand. He pulled out a yellow, plastic baseball bat and pushed the end to my eye. It had sharp, rough edging where the plastic seams met and it scratched my cheek. I knocked it away from my face with my left hand and immediately smacked the kid upside the head with my right. He sat back and looked at me with a dumbfounded look. His parents were sitting near him and a whispered drone came over the audience as they all discussed what had happened and why. When the event we were watching ended, I collected my cutting boards and told Matt’s family I was ready to go home. They said that we couldn’t because they were working on the giant clock outside and it was too muddy. The construction site was packed with onlookers and I passed them, heading back into the building we came from. It was fairly crowded in there and I squeezed through a doorway, passing a woman holding a tiny baby. She dropped it on a box because of the shuffling and picked it up by it’s foot. I grabbed it from her and it was the size of my 3 month old kitten, about the size of a ferret (with a shorter back and really long legs!). I liked the idea of having that baby. As I walked to a couch with it, the baby turned into a magazine with the baby’s picture on the front of it. I sat down to read it, but the obnoxious boy’s sister interrupted me. I was laying with my head on the edge of the cushion and my feet up over the couch’s back. She asked me what happened and I explained. I showed her the scratch on my cheek and said it was necessary when I whacked him. Shaking her head in approval, she said “You were getting revenge”. I agreed.
